About Me: Everyone calls me DJ and I just turned one on November 17. I was a preemie born 2 months early and was small due to IUGR (intrauterine growth restriction), weighing only 2lbs 14ozs and measuring 16 inches in length. Since then, I've come a long way. I had a brain bleed and ROP (retinopathy of prematurity), both of which resolved themselves before I left the hospital. I stayed in the NICU for a month and then went to a step down hospital closer to home for a week as a grower and a feeder, coming home on Christmas day. My mom and dad took me to a specialist because they noticed my left eye turned in at times. The specialist said I had a weak left eye so I have to be patched for 6-8 hours a day and wear glasses along with my patching all day to help correct my eye crossing. Everyone comments on how handsome I look and my momma and daddy say I am soo cute I remind them of chicken little. I may be small but I have big things in store for the future!
