What kind of glasses does your infant/toddler have? 2010/07/14 22:47 Karma: 0
My daughter got glasses at 10 months old and at 12 months they are already to small. The frame width is not wide enough. She was in a 38 frame with cable temples which has been nice because she hasn't been able to pull them off very easily. So I am asking for your input. What did you find (brand and style)? Where did you find them? Would you buy them again?
Maisie has Mod beginners from framesdirect.com - Great price, really cute, but not tall enough: she doesn't look through enough of the lens.
Thanks

Our 9 mos old son has Nouveau Habitat (Nick Jr. Diego branded) frames and so far so good. They have the cable temples and knock on wood he hasn't even really persisted at trying to take them off so they must not bother him. I think they make a more "girlie" model of the same style.

We got them at the optical shop at our PO (Children's Mercy KC) as we had no luck finding glasses his size anywhere else in the Kansas City area.

Hi, my son (12mth) is long sighted and got his 2nd pair. As he broke the first one, which was meant to be more durable because of flexible plastic frame, but broke twice in 2 month. So we decided to get an other one which looks more like any adult version. Nice narrow steel frame, with little bit flexible legs, etc... Lenses are CarlZeiss, I would recommend to anyone.
The only problem we've got is he does not want to wear it.
He was ok in the first couple of days but it is now getting worse. When he just discovers glasses in my hand starts screaming and shaking his head.
But if he pays attention of something else he sometimes wears it for a good half on hour.

Anyone has any experience or idea could help me to get him wear it as he needs.

Thanks in advance!

My 10 month old son began wearing glasses at 8 weeks old - he had cataracts. He has always used the Miraflex brand. Bright coloured frames and made of a type of rubber. He has a type of soft elastic that goes around the back of his head. He does not pull them off so easily. They dont leave marks by his temples either. They have a website and even sent me a pair of frames for free just so long as I sent them a photo of him in them!
